Paradise Timbers Pty Ltd is a committed environmentally responsible company
and to this end we have taken the decision to purchase our timber from
certified sources ...
- extract from our environmental statement
Chain of Custody certification is a process to trace wood, through inventory and stock control up the supply chain – from the certified forest where the wood was harvested, though the manufacturing process to the final point of sale, such as a timber yard, hardware store or furniture shop. This could be either here in Australia or overseas.
Wood products coming from certified forest may be sold with documentation or a product label, verifying the products certified origin.
This information can be traced back to the last certified organisation that has either transformed or owned the product in the chain.
Each company in the supply chain needs to be independently certified ( AFS / PEFC / FSC ) to ensure that the link in the chain of custody is not broken.
Paradise Timbers is FSC and PEFC certified. Any AFS certified products we offer have been endorsed by PEFC, thus we have no need for seperate AFS certification.
